The Atlanta Dream host the Indiana Fever tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on NBA TV, so let's get to my Fever vs. Dream prediction.
Fever vs. Dream Pick and Prediction
Both the Fever and Dream have had their moments this season, but the Fever's recent success seems more sustainable. Their young talent is finding its stride and Caitlin Clark is proving to everyone why she was the No. 1 overall pick and seen as a potential game-changing talent. Clark and her supporting cast will be too much for an Atlanta team that struggles to score points.
Fever vs. Dream Pick: Fever -3 |

One team that has snuck into the playoff picture is squaring off with one on the outside looking in as the Fever head to Atlanta to take on the Dream. While each team has a sub-.500 record, both have been playing some of their best basketball of late.
Indiana Fever: Clark Playing Well
Though not among the league's best, the Fever haven't been able to sneak up on anybody this season. That's, of course, due to having Clark, who has really found her stride as a scorer. Averaging a team-best 17.9 points per game, she has scored no fewer than 23 points in each of her past four games and has topped the 20-point mark in six of her past seven.
Clark has also been an assist machine. Averaging 8.3 per game on the season, she has topped that number eight times in her past 10 games. Clark has some good options to get the ball to with Kelsey Mitchell (17.8 points), Aliyah Boston (13.9 points) and NaLyssa Smith (11.0 points) rounding out the team's double-digit scorers.
Clark and Mitchell, specifically, do much of their damage from 3 and combine to average 5.3 makes on 15.2 attempts per game.
Winners of four of their past six but coming off a tough loss to Minnesota, the Fever have a league average offensive rating while playing at a middle of the road pace. Defensively, they are among the worst teams in the W. Indiana has the second-worst defensive rating and allows 87 points per game.
Atlanta Dream: Can Offense Step Up?
The Dream followed an eight-game losing streak with a three-game winning streak, though most recently lost a heartbreaker to the Phoenix Mercury. Their winning streak included victories over the Mercury, Sun and Storm, showing they are capable of playing at a high level.
The Dream feature a balanced offensive attack, with four players averaging in double figures and a fifth less than a point from doing the same. Rhyne Howard's 16.3 points per game pace the team, while Allisha Gray (15.9), Tina Charles (13.9) and Jordin Canada (10.1) all chip in.
A veteran, Charles recently moved into second place on the WNBA's all-time scoring list. Howard, the No. 1 overall pick in 2022, has been fairly consistent this season and is averaging 19.5 points in the four games since the extended break.
The Dream need all of it as they have the league's lowest scoring average of 75.8 points per game. Their offensive rating is also at the bottom, but defensively, they allow fewer points than all but four teams and own the league's fifth-best defensive rating.
Fever vs. Dream Betting Pick & Prediction
While both of these teams have eyes on the playoffs, the Fever's recent on-court success seems less like a fluke. Winners of four of their past five games largely because of an offense that has found its way, you can expect Indiana to do enough to beat Atlanta for a third time this season. The previous two games were won by seven and 12 points, respectively, and this one won't be much closer.
Pick: Fever -3
