The team with the worst record in the league faces off with a team that has begun to find its footing. The Dallas Wings host the Indiana Fever in both teams' final game before both the All-Star and Olympics breaks.

The Fever are looking to win their third-straight game while the Wings are hoping to avoid a fourth-consecutive loss in the first meeting between the teams this season.

Below, check out my Fever vs. Wings preview, along with my pick and prediction.

Indiana Fever

The on-court performance is starting to catch up with the hype. Indiana has played its way into the playoff picture with a balanced attack, featuring four players averaging double-digit points.

They are led by Kelsey Mitchell, whose 17.1 points per outing are made possible in large part to her 3-point shot, of which she averages 2.4 makes on 6.4 attempts. Mitchell has topped the 20-point mark in three of her last five games.

Meanwhile rookie Caitlin Clark attempts more 3s per game (8.3), while averaging 16.8 points, 7.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds. Clark has posted at least 11 assists in five of her last six games, though she has averaged 5.5 turnovers per game during that stretch.

Aliyah Boston paces the Fever with 8.8 rebounds per game and is coming off a night in which she pulled down 16 rebounds to go along with 17 points. The game prior, she tallied 13 boards and 21 points.

The Fever are a middle-of-the-pack team when it comes to offensive rating and pace, but are 11th out of 12 teams in defensive efficiency.

Dallas Wings

No team could benefit from this long break more than the Wings, who have been ravaged by injuries pretty much from the get go. The mix-and-match lineup is not without talent, but it has lacked consistency.

One bright spot has been the play of Arike Ogunbowale, who is averaging 22.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Both the assists and rebounds would represent a career-high mark, as would the 20 shots per game she is attempting.

The team's second leading scorer, Natasha Howard missed a considerable amount of time following a broken foot in the season opener, but has rounded into form of late. She has averaged 16.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Howard posted a career-high 36 points a couple weeks ago in a loss to Phoenix.

Veteran guard Odyssey Sims signed with the Wings in late June, though her familiarity with the team after playing with them in '23 showed as she was immediately thrust into a key role. In just eight games and six starts, she is averaging 16.4 points while making 52% of her 3-point attempts.

Dallas plays at the league's third-fastest pace but while it is sixth in points-per game, it's the worst team in the W in terms of points allowed and defensive efficiency rating.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Neither team in this matchup plays much defense, which should lend itself to plenty of points being scored. Clark may get the headlines and attention, but Dallas is going to be forced to keep up, which means it'll be leaning heavily on Ogunbowale. Expect her to take advantage of the attention she'll receive by finding teammates for at least five assists.

Pick: Arike Ogunbowale Over 4.5 assists (+102) via DraftKings
