The WNBA aligned each team's final two games of the regular season to all be played on the same day, as we get all 12 teams playing across six games this Sunday. This heightens the intensity of playoff races, because the seeding cannot be set prior to the start of other matchups.
There are quite a few playoff spots and seeding races still up in the air heading into today. On a betting level, this creates lots of opportunities and plenty of value in the prop market. Here are my top three WNBA player props for Sunday, September 15.
WNBA Player Prop Picks for Sunday, September 15
- Caitlin Clark Over 22.5 Points (-110, FanDuel)
- Courtney Williams Under 5.5 Assists (-120, Caesars)
- Dearica Hamby Over 12.5 Points (-120, Caesars)
Wings vs Fever Player Props: Bet on Caitlin Clark to Bounce Back
Caitlin Clark's shot has been WAY OFF recently! In her latest outing against the Aces, Clark went the entire first half without scoring — for the first time in her entire rookie season. In the game prior, she was 1-for-9 from deep.
Despite the cold streak, the shot attempts have been there and the ball has truly been rimming out. If Clark sees a couple drop in early in this one, I expect her to keep lighting it up.
We also have a perfect game script situation with the matchup against the Wings, another very fast-paced team. The game total is listed at 185.5, the single highest total I have seen all season.
Normally, I stay away from star player overs, but in a game where Caitlin is coming in cold and the pace is expected to be fast, we get good value on her over at 22.5. I much prefer this line at FanDuel (-110), as most other books are offering over 21.5 at -140.
Lynx vs Liberty Player Props: Tough Spot for Courtney Williams
The Minnesota Lynx magic number is "one win" in their next two games in order to clinch the 2-seed for the WNBA Playoffs. They either need to win one or have the Connecticut Sun lose one. I expect the Lynx to rely on their stout and league-leading defense, which will start with Williams putting a lot of on ball pressure on Sabrina Ionescu in this matchup.
I expect Williams to see an uptick in defensive effort, and scale down on her playmaking role offensively. The Lynx have also been featuring more Napheesa Collier at the top of the post as a start to their offensive actions.
The total in this game is set at 159.5 and more likely to drop than it is to rise. With less scoring and high defensive intensity expected, play Williams to go under 5.5 assists.
Side note: sometimes targeting a player who is going to be a defensive focal point can lead to foul trouble and reduced playing time as well, another solid situation to be an under.
Sparks vs Storm Player Props: Favorable Matchup for Dearica Hamby
Despite the LA Sparks being very much eliminated from the playoff race, they have not stopped playing hard and are setting a culture late in the season with a young core.
Hamby is the team leader and centerpiece. This is a strong matchup for her against the Storm who have strong guard and wing play, but Hamby can win down low.
Hamby can play inside and out, with pace and in the half court. When she is on the court she is always a threat to score. Some books are pricing this line at 13.5 with the vig slanted toward the over at that number as well. I'll grab the over 12.5 at Caesars while it's still there.
