WNBA Player Props Today: Jordin Canada, Jewell Loyd Among Best Picks (Tuesday, June 20)

This week's WNBA action begins with a trio of matchups on Tuesday night, including a pair of matchups on NBA TV: Dream vs. Wings (8 p.m. ET) and Sun vs. Storm (10 p.m. ET).

Satou Sabally Over 11.5 rebounds (-113)

While the Atlanta Dream rank second in the WNBA in rebounds — 36.6 boards per contest — they also play at the fastest pace in the league, generating an estimated 82.5 possessions per 40 minutes. And while they're fourth in offensive rebounding percentage at 24.3, they're also second to last in defensive rebounding percentage at 74.2.

Satou Sabally, a strong candidate for All-Star, has hit over 11.5 boards in two of her last four. She should be able to pound the glass against a starting five including Cheyenne Parker, Allisha Gray and Ryne Howard, and feast on the offensive glass.

While the Dream rank second-worst in defensive rebounding percentage, the Wings rank first in offensive rebounding percentage (33.3) and first in rebounds per game (37.7), according to WNBA Stats, and Sabally is the leagues leading rebounder at 11.0 per contest.

Los Angeles Sparks

Jordin Canada Over 5.5 assists (-115)

Jump on this number if you can get it — at least two other books, including DraftKings, have this prop listed at -130 as of this writing.

Canada has hit this over in three of her last four games, coinciding with a recent elevation in shot creation and overall scoring. Canada's game is opening up, averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 assists in her last five while shooting 48% from the field. When her shot is falling, her playmaking lanes open up.

In six games of scoring 14 or more points, she's gotten over 5.5 assists in half of the games, and even tallied at least five assists in all six. The UCLA alum is seeing the entire floor right now and you just have hope the Sparks can hit enough shots.

Connecticut Sun vs.

Seattle Storm

Jewell Loyd Over 24.5 Points (-114)

This prop is listed at 25.5 elsewhere — DraftKings included — and I'm not as comfortable with that, for what it's worth. Loyd is one of the great shotmakers on earth right now, averaging 25.4 points and shooting 40% from 3-point range on over eight attempts per contest. She's also attacking, getting to the line nearly seven times per game and hitting 81.7% on free throws.

She cooled off a bit from an early hot start, but just had 39 against the Wings last time out. Before unloading just 16, 17 and 17, she had crossed over 24.5 in four consecutive games.

The 39-point effort is a season-high to this point. She also had 37 against the Sparks over two weeks ago and followed up with 25 against the Sparks three days later, despite shooting 5-of-18, due to her effectiveness in getting to the line for 14 free throws, draining 13 — most of the season.
