Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks Odds & Betting Predictions - August 9, 2023

Available at FanDuel. The Diamondbacks have been brutal since the trade deadline, and they're starting a rookie who has struggled thus far in the big leagues. I get why the market is low on them. I just think it's a bit *too* low. Brandon Pfaadt's first few starts back up from the minors have been fluky. He is still letting up tons of hard contact but has managed decent results. But hard contact isn't everything, and he's finally starting to get some of the promised strikeouts. He racked up seven last week against the Giants on the road. On the opposing side is Julio Urias, whose velocity has been down since his return, and while he's still doing a great job of suppressing hard contact, his other numbers are simply average. I understand why the market is here. I just think it's too aggressive in its assessment, especially if we allow for some improvement out of Pfaadt.
