Somewhat quietly, the Minnesota Timberwolves have stayed afloat in the Western Conference despite Karl-Anthony Towns missing more than two months of action. Leading the way over this stretch has been Anthony Edwards.
Over his last 25 games, Edwards has cleared this PRA line 16 times, while incurring a lofty 31.7% Usage Rate (comparable to the likes of Damian Lillard).
Back in November, playing alongside a healthy Towns, Edwards torched the Magic for 49 PRA. Orlando really lacks wing defenders to slow down a player like Ant Man; James Harden, DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler have had varying levels of success against the Magic of late.
And yes, the All-Star snub narrative could also work in our favor. The third-year guard was left off of the Western Conference reserves, despite making a very strong case for his selection. While it could be coincidence, Edwards popped off for 45 PRA the day after the reserves were announced last season.
The great matchup coupled with some added motivation should spell a big game for the Georgia product. I have Edwards’ PRA projected in the low 40s, and I would play this line up to over 39.5.
Pick: Over 38.5 PRA (-120) — Bet up to 39.5.
