Wilmington may be 17-2, but if you persued their resume you’d come away unimpressed. Below average offensive numbers, they never turn you over, so what gives? They’re tremendous in the half court defensively, they rarely turn it over so you can’t run on them, and they’re one of the very best mid major rebounding teams. Patrick Wessler is their anchor in the middle, but this team is big everywhere, 8th in height in all of D1. I haven’t beat this team all year long because of their plodding style and shooting limitations, I don’t want to back them as favorites. That’s been a wise choice, 17-2 SU, yet they’re 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 games. Which is nuts. They just played an uptempo team in Campbell and erased a four-point halftime deficit and scored 45 in the second half to win by 3. Greedy Williams is starting to come on, need 15 from him here.
