It's time to dive into the Pitt vs. Wake Forest odds and make a prediction for Tuesday's college basketball clash in the ACC.
Tuesday night will mark the second meeting of the season between Pittsburgh and Wake Forest.
The Panthers came from behind to take the first matchup at home, and now will go for the sweep in Winston-Salem. Both of these teams currently sit inside the top five in the ACC standings, so this game has heavy implications for the coveted double bye in the ACC Tournament, which goes out to the top four teams.
Let’s discuss where the betting value lies in our Pitt vs. Wake Forest betting preview.
The hottest team in the ACC right now is none other than the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Jeff Capel’s team got off to a sluggish start to conference play, but it has really found its stride in the month of February.
Blake Hinson is a key reason why. The veteran wing had a record-breaking performance Saturday against Louisville, knocking down nine 3s and going for 41 points.
Hinson is a big time shot-maker but he also guards well and is the undisputed vocal leader of this Panthers team.
Pitt has also cranked up its defensive intensity over the last few weeks, and it has shown in the box scores.
The Panthers are still a couple of wins away from creeping back into the right side of the NCAA Tourmanent picture, which makes Tuesday all the more important given it is a chance at a Quad 1 win.
Pitt must make a conscious effort to hold its own on the boards, as Wake Forest has some athletic bodies on the inside.

The Demon Deacons had played themselves right near the cut line for the NCAA Tournament, but two losses last week mean this team has more work to do.
There’s certainly no shame in losing at Duke and at Virginia, but getting one of those would have gone a long way for Steve Forbes’ team.
Wake Forest is normally elite offensively, but could only muster up 47 points Saturday against Tony Bennett’s pack line defense.
The Demon Deacons should come out fired up for this one to end the losing streak and also to exact some revenge on a Pitt team that they had on the ropes at the Zoo earlier in the month.
Wake Forest needs to continue to lean on Efton Reid III and Andrew Carr in the interior. As noted above, both should have a significant size advantage over the Panthers' front line.
Additionally, the Demon Deacons need to guard the arc, as Pitt has been making it rain from deep during this winning streak.
Pitt vs. Wake Forest
Betting Pick & Prediction
There’s no denying that Pitt is the hottest team in the conference, but I think the streak ends Tuesday night.
Wake Forest has the firepower offensively to knock down plenty of shots from the perimeter, which is where the Panthers' defense can be vulnerable.
Both offenses will have success in the half court, but the Demon Deacons should be better equipped to get their fair share of timely stops.
I’m backing Wake Forest to cover the number as a home favorite in an important bubble game in the ACC.
