One of my favorite plays this Weekend

This cap is pretty simple. The argument for unders and tight games when it comes to schools competing for the Commander-in-Chief Trophy is that they have more familiarity with one another than any opponent. But Air Force really has two offensive settings. They have their flexbone triple option, which they can run from under center, pistol or they pop it back into the shotgun. And then they have their downfield passing attack out of the pistol and shotgun. Army doesn’t have this at all. And Szarka is on pace to finish second in passing yards in a single season at Air Force. Last week was a good example against WYO tho, if the run game is working they don’t stop running it. 330 on the ground, 8 total pass attempts. He had averaged 17 pass attempts per game in the previous four starts. Army has no pass rush, so they’ll have few answers here. I haven’t liked this Army offense from the jump. It’s one setting, run run run, but they’re outside the top 60 in success rate, and dead last in big play creation. Air Force is dreadful defensively, but they’ll have a chance to get off the field with Army going 4 yards at a time. Against versatile offenses AFA could give up 500 yards. But they’ll held Navy to 34 points with some situational success on 3rd down and in the red zone. Army is half the offense of Navy. AFA can make a bowl if they get hot and they have the offense and coaching staff to do it.
