Doesn’t it feel like we are about to watch a sneak peek of the NFC Championship Game with Cowboys vs. 49ers? Two of the best teams in the conference are playing each other in San Francisco on Sunday night, and with so much elite talent on display, Brock Purdy's rushing attempt prop is worth discussing.
Purdy has maintained an average of 3.0 rush attempts per game and has achieved this in three out of four games this season. However, the Cowboys' exceptional ability to apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks stands out to me.
Per Pro Football Reference, the Cowboys rank first in pressure rate (25.6%), largely due to the impressive performance of linebacker Micah Parsons.
Based on this information, I think there is a high chance we see a scramble from Purdy, as well as coach Kyle Shanahan calling at least one designed run to move the chains.
When it comes to having a favorable game script, nothing compares to the 49ers' dominance when playing at home. They have won nine straight against the spread going back to last season.
If everything goes according to plan, this should work in our favor because when quarterbacks rush, props like the victory formation in kneeling count as an attempt.
