Raiders vs. Giants odds for Week 9 have Las Vegas listed as 1.5-point home favorites in this battle of disappointing NFL teams. The over/under is in the range of 38 to 39 depending on the sportsbook.

It’s been a dramatic week in Sin City as the Raiders cleaned house, firing head coach Josh McDaniel. As such, there’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding this Sunday afternoon game against the Giants. However, if we can rely on one thing, it might be that Las Vegas’ run defense will continue to be a trainwreck — and that's good news for Saquon Barkley.

Let's preview the game and get into my Raiders vs. Giants prediction below, which is a prop pick on Barkley to run wild in Vegas.

Pick: Saquon Barkley Over 75.5 Rushing Yards | Bet to 78.5

Matchup Analysis

The line on Barkley’s rushing yards is as low as 75.5, and there are an overwhelming number of signs pointing toward the over.

First off, Barkley’s exceeded that mark in every game since returning from his ankle injury. He gashed the Bills for 93 yards in his first game back, followed by a 77-yard game against the Commanders and a 128-yard performance last week against the Jets.

Barkley’s one of the few true bell-cow backs in the league. His 36 carries last week were the most in a game by a single player all year. It was only the second time this season someone eclipsed 30 totes in a game. Furthermore, his 81 carries over the last four weeks are the second most in the league, which is incredible considering he’s only played in three games over that span.

It stands to reason that Barkley will see a ton of carries in a tasty matchup against the Raiders. Las Vegas has allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (140.6) and has the fourth-worst defensive rush DVOA in the league.

The Raiders were gashed for 222 yards on the ground last week by the Lions, led by Jahmyr Gibbs running it 26 times for 152 yards and Craig Reynolds rushing 14 times for 74 yards. The week before, the Raiders gave up 173 yards on the ground to the Bears, led by D’Onta Foreman, who carried it 16 times for 89 yards despite being a healthy scratch most of the season.

Now, it’s Barkley’s turn to feast.

The Giants may be getting Daniel Jones back, but make no mistake – this team goes as Barkley goes. Few teams pound it as much as Big Blue, especially of late.

New York’s rushed the ball on 52.0% of plays dating back to Week 5, which is most in the NFL. That’s terrible news for a Raiders defense that’s allowed 5.0 yards per carry over that same span, which is tied for worst in the league.

Additionally, the Giants’ 530 rushing yards over that time frame is tied for the fifth most while Las Vegas is giving up more yards on the ground than any other team (595).

Betting Picks & Predictions

There’s no doubt the Raiders are thrilled McDaniels is gone. The scenes from their jubilant locker room this week are all the proof you need that the players are ecstatic he got canned.

However, while I think they have a good chance to cover — especially since interim head coaches are 19-16 ATS in their first game dating back to 2003 — I think the safest play is backing Barkley.

My main fear here is that the Giants throw it a bit more now that Jones is back under center. Still, even if Barkley gets a few less opportunities, I still like his chances of doing what virtually every running back has done to Las Vegas, which is embarrass them on the ground.

I’d take this all the way up to 78.5, and I wouldn’t blame you for making a couple making escalator bets if that's your thing.
