Another primetime game, another tight end prop from me. After cashing David Njoku on Thursday night, I turn my attention to Lions rookie Sam LaPorta for the Saturday version of Monday Night Football.

LaPorta has been a revelation for the Lions, effectively replacing the tight end production lost when the team sent T.J. Hockenson to the Vikings. The Iowa product is second on the Lions in virtually every major receiving category, and he has caught at least five passes (including 40+ receiving yards) in five of his last nine games.

Tonight sets up as a spot where LaPorta should see increased volume. The Cowboys rank 26th in DVOA against tight ends, per FTN Fantasy. In fact, it’s the only pass-catching position they rank outside of the top nine in DVOA in terms of defending.

LaPorta has caught at least five passes in six of his 10 matchups against teams ranking in the bottom 20 of DVOA against tight ends.

And the game script should be on our side with the Cowboys at home and their high-powered aerial attack matching up against against the Lions' average secondary.

I have LaPorta registering eight targets tonight, which projects to about 5.5 catches and 55 yards. I’d play this combined line up to -145.
