Maye⬆️ 4.5 Rushing Attempts (-120 @ BetMGM) THE BLITZ 📽️: 6.50 Carries Drake Maye of the New England Patriots has been showing encouraging signs as a mobile quarterback, clearing his rushing yards total in 3 of his last 4 games. Maye has demonstrated a willingness to take off and run when the pocket breaks down or when coverage forces him to scramble. This makes him an intriguing option against the Los Angeles Chargers, who, while boasting a solid defense, provide a reasonable opportunity for Maye to hit his rushing mark. The Chargers have a middle-of-the-road pass rush but feature one of the league's top 5 coverage units, which could limit Maye’s ability to rely on his passing game. With New England’s receiving corps already lacking standout talent, good coverage could force Maye to make plays with his legs. We’ve seen other semi-mobile quarterbacks (but not rushing QB's), like Will Levis and Jameis Winston, clear their rushing lines against the Chargers this season, so Maye has the potential to do the same, especially if he faces extended plays and scrambles. As underdogs, the Patriots are likely to be in a position where they have to push the tempo late in the game, running a hurry-up offense in a bid to catch up. This could tire out the Chargers' defense and create openings in the middle of the field for Maye to gain yards on the ground. While it’s not expected, there is also the possibility that New England could pull off an upset, giving Maye a chance for kneel-down yardage, which could push his rushing total over the line. Given all these factors, Maye’s rushing prop is a solid bet, with several avenues for him to exceed expectations.

McConkey has only cleared this reception mark once all season, and that was against the Falcons, a team known for its inability to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks. In contrast, the Patriots are a middle-of-the-pack defense when it comes to allowing receptions to wide receivers, ranking 16th in this category. Target volume has been a challenge for McConkey all season. He’s only seen more than 8 targets in two of 14 games, which limits his opportunities to hit this reception total. Furthermore, this matchup is expected to feature a slower pace of play. Both the Chargers and Patriots rank in the bottom 15 for pace, meaning fewer plays and, by extension, fewer chances for McConkey to rack up catches. Another key factor is the return of JK Dobbins to the Chargers' lineup. In the 11 games McConkey has played with Dobbins active, he has not hit this reception mark once. Dobbins’ presence typically leads to a more balanced offensive approach, reducing the reliance on McConkey in the passing game. All signs point to this being a tough spot for McConkey to go over his reception total. With the matchup, pace, and offensive balance working against him, the under looks like the right play here.
