McNichol graduated from Boston College with a degree in Marketing and English. He endured a lifetime of painful losses by BC's football and basketball teams.

Experience

McNichol joined Action Network to cover college basketball in 2020, after nearly a decade covering the sport elsewhere. His sports media journey began when he started his blog, PalestraBack.com, in 2014. He has also contributed to Rush the Court, Larry Brown Sports, and ESPN.com as a part of Joe Lunardi's team of Bracketologists. In 2021, he expanded his work with Action, adding regular posts to GolfBet, looking for winners on the PGA Tour and in the rest of the golf world.
