The Vezina Trophy is awarded at the conclusion of every season to the goalie deemed to be the best at his position. Last season, the Vezina Trophy was awarded to Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. What are American Odds?

American Odds are the default odds at U.S. sportsbooks. The odds are based on winning $100 for a given bet on either the Favorite or the Underdog.  A Favorite will have a minus (-) sign next to the odds and represents the money you need to risk to win $100. An Underdog will have a plus (+) sign in front and represents the money you can win for every $100 risked. So, if you're betting on the Lightning at -140 against the Canadiens, that means Tampa Bay is a slight favorite. You need to risk $140 to win $100 on the Canadiens. If they win, you profit $100 and get your original $140 back.

What are Decimal Odds?

Beyond the U.S., most of the world uses Decimal Odds, in part because it’s easier to convert them to implied probabilities. Decimal odds represent the amount you win for every $1 wagered. And the number represents the total return, not just the profit (this is different from American and fractional odds).

 What are Fractional Odds?

Fractional Odds are used primarily in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Few bettors use fractional odds for betting sports other than horse racing, because the conversions to understand return are challenging. To calculate winnings on fractional odds, multiply your bet by the top number (the numerator), then divide the result by the bottom number (the denominator).

• The Colorado Avalanche advanced to the second round by defeating the Los Angeles Kings 5-1 on Sunday night. Colorado completed a four-game sweep of the series. This game marked the final appearance of Kings captain Anze Kopitar, who retired after twenty seasons in the league. Nathan MacKinnon led the Avalanche with two goals and one assist in the clinching victory.
• The Buffalo Sabres took a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Boston Bruins with a 6-1 victory at TD Garden. Buffalo used a four-goal first period to control the game. In the Western Conference, the Anaheim Ducks moved within one win of the second round by beating the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in overtime. Anaheim now holds a 3-1 lead as the series shifts back to Edmonton.
• The Tampa Bay Lightning evened their series with the Montreal Canadiens at 2-2 following a 3-2 road win. Tampa Bay secured the victory despite the absence of captain Victor Hedman. Other ongoing series include the Carolina Hurricanes, who previously became the first team to advance by sweeping the Ottawa Senators. The Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars remain tied 2-2 after Minnesota's recent overtime win.
