Experience
Steven is the Director for Commercial Content at Action Network and Better Collective US. He specializes in covering sports from top to bottom, including the industry behind it and the interplay between legal gambling and the world of sports.
Steven was the deputy editor for Action, supervising all written content across the website and best-in-class mobile app from 2020-2022. In 2018, he joined Action as its college football and college basketball editor. His interview with eventual boss Chad Millman had to be cut short because the Supreme Court had just overturned PASPA and allowed states to legalize sports betting.
He began his career at Sporting News, where he eventually oversaw the Linemakers, the company’s sports betting vertical that mistimed its entry into the market by a few years. He then went to Cox Media Group and oversaw content strategy for several college football websites, and even appeared on a betting live stream.
Education
Steven graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. He spent most of his time at The Daily Collegian, Penn State’s independent student newspaper.
