The Dodgers (40-22) are looking to take three of four from division rival Arizona. Los Angeles is coming off a 7-0 win, where Shohei Ohtani delivered yet another gem on the mound.
In this matchup, they're sending out Justin Wrobleski, who just shut down the Phillies for seven innings of one-run ball while racking up a season-high nine strikeouts. That was a huge bounce-back from his previous outing, when he gave up five runs against the Brewers.
What's good for the Dodgers here is that they have a fresh bullpen, with high-leverage arms like Tanner Scott, Kyle Hurt and Alex Vesia each getting the night off on Wednesday.
Diamondbacks Preview
The Diamondbacks (32-29) will try to salvage a split and gain ground on the first-place Dodgers. Arizona couldn't get anything going against Ohtani last night.
Tonight, they're rolling with Ryne Nelson, who has been a disappointment this season. However, if we dig a little deeper, we see signs of improvement. Over his last six starts, Nelson has posted a 2.95 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. He'll look to bounce back from a poor outing against the Mariners in his last turn.
Arizona's top arms, like Paul Sewald and Kevin Ginkel, weren't used out of the bullpen last night, so they're good to go here.
