Editor's Note: A home run parlay is not the author's formal recommendation. These home run picks have value as straight bets.
Twins vs Rays Home Run Pick
Byron Buxton is one of the best home run hitters in the league, and the odds are a bit too high here.
The Rays' Shane McClanahan is around an average matchup for power, and the ballpark is a bit below average.
I have the true odds on Buxton around +320.
Pick: Byron Buxton Home Run (+285)
Nationals vs. White Sox Player Prop
After a slow start to the season, Colson Montgomery has been on fire over the last week.
The White Sox shortstop now gets a matchup against a massive gas can for lefty power in Nats SP Jake Irvin, who allowed a massive 2.32 HR/9 last season and has been crushed this season.
The weather is a little cold over in Chicago, but the wind is blowing out heavily and should be around neutral for homers.
I have the true odds on Montgomery around +300.
Pick: Colson Montgomery (+361)
Athletics vs. Rangers Home Run Prop
I know that this is a lefty/lefty matchup, but there is no way the odds should be this high for Nick Kurtz.
The Rangers' MacKenzie Gore is a good pitcher, but he has reverse splits and grades out as an average matchup for lefty power.
The ballpark is a downgrade, but Kurtz has been on a tear recently.
I have the true odds on the A's first baseman under +500.
Pick: Nick Kurtz Home Run (+570)
Angels vs. Royals Top HR Pick
The matchup here is a tough one, but the odds for Mike Trout are still far too high. The Angels' superstar has been one of the best hitters in the league this season.
The Royals starting pitcher today, Cole Ragans, has been a below-average matchup for HRs in his career for righties, but a lot of that has been due to playing in one of the worst ballparks in the league for power.
I have the true odds on Trout around +400.
Pick: Mike Trout Home Run (+490)
Yankees vs. Astros Home Run Pick
Astros 3B Isaac Paredes hasn't been hitting a ton of dingers this season, but the power is absolutely there, and the ballpark is great for his profile with the short left-field porch.
Yankees SP Ryan Weathers has been an absolute gas can for righty power this season and last season.
I have the true odds around +450.
