The MLB schedule brings us a packed 14-game slate today, and I'll be locking in on Jordan Hicks, Luis L. Ortiz and Tyler Glasnow for my MLB prop picks.

Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for March 31, 2025.

Giants vs. Astros Player Props: Can Hicks Handle Houston?

Jordan Hicks transitioned into a starter last season and had mixed levels of success. However, one area where he was consistent was the strikeout column.

Hicks averaged 4.5 strikeouts per start last season and recorded at least four strikeouts in 70% of his 20 starts. In his first outing of 2025, he'll face the Houston Astros, who ranked second in strikeout rate against righties, but have enough holes in the lineup for Hicks to get over this mark.

My only concern with this over is Hicks' length. In spring, he went five innings multiple times, but only maxed out at 63 pitches. If he goes five innings, we should be in good shape.

Guardians vs. Padres Player Props: Fade Ortiz

Luis Ortiz is set to make his Cleveland Guardians debut and will draw a tough assignment in the San Diego Padres. Ortiz was a sneaky good pickup for the Guardians, as he was solid for Pittsburgh last season, posting a 3.22 ERA.

However, don't let that ERA fool you — he's due for sizable regression. His FIP was 4.57 and he averaged just seven strikeouts per nine innings. Ortiz allows a ton of hard contact, and the Padres feature a lineup that can cause damage.

San Diego not only ranked first in average and wOBA against righties, but also had the lowest strikeout rate in baseball. The under is the side to take.

Braves vs. Dodgers Player Props: Back Glasnow Against Atlanta

For our last player prop, we are going to back Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow is one of the game's best strikeout artists and showed that when he was healthy last year.

Glasnow ranked in the 98th percentile in strikeout rate and was due for sizable positive regression prior to getting injured. His first start of 2025 comes against a Braves lineup with plenty of whiff in it.

Atlanta ranked 21st in strikeout rate against righties last season and hasn’t looked any better early on, striking out in over 26% of its at-bats through the first four games of the season.

Look for Glasnow to carve up the Braves and cash this over.
