If you tuned into my first three ‘Total Base of the Day’ segments, White Sox slugger Munetaka Murakami, Blue Jays first baseman Vladdy Guerrero Jr, and Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies all cashed their respective total base marks with flying colors.
Read on for my favorite total base prop for Wednesday, May 6.

MLB Props Wednesday: Minion's Total Base of the Day
Byron Buxton
vs. Nationals, 6:45 PM ET
Despite a rather sluggish start to Buxton’s 2026 campaign, Byron Buxton is starting to find his rhythm at the plate. He’s smashed five homers over the past eight games.
In addition to his current form, Buxton gets an ideal matchup on Wednesday against Miles Mikolas.
Mikolas has a whopping 8.23 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over his first seven starts. Not a great omen, considering he has posted an ERA over four in six of his past seven full seasons.
While Buxton does not have the best head-to-head history versus Mikolas, having failed to record a single hit in his five career head-to-head plate appearances, he should take advantage of this version of Mikolas.
Mikolas is on pace for a career-low strikeout rate and a career-high hard-hit rate allowed, ultimately equating to an obscene 2.63 HR/9 allowed.
Buxton is one of the best barrel guys in the game, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him blast an extra-base (or home run) on Wednesday.
Pick: Byron Buxton Over 1.5 Total Bases
