For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into three hitters in Andrew Vaughn, Salvador Perez and Manny Machado.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Wednesday, July 30.
MLB Player Props for July 30, 2025
- Andrew Vaughn Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-115, Fanatics)
- Salvador Perez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, Fanatics)
- Manny Machado Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-130, DraftKings)
Cubs vs Brewers Player Props: Vaughn Coming Around in New Home
In 2019, the White Sox made Andrew Vaughn the third overall pick in the MLB Entry Draft. Vaughn was expected to be a key piece of their future, but he hit 20 home runs just once and never posted an .800 OPS.
However, if his first few weeks as a Brewer are any indication, he may be in Milwaukee for a long time.
Since joining the Brewers, Vaughn is hitting .375 with 10 runs scored, four doubles, five home runs, 21 RBI and a 1.209 OPS in 15 games. In that time, he trails only Kyle Schwarber in RBI.
Last night, Vaughn recorded six RBI as he went 3-for-4 with a grand slam. That helped Milwaukee put the game away on Tuesday.
The Cubs will counter with Shota Imanaga as they try to salvage a game in this series. Imanaga may be the Cubs' ace, but he didn't look like it last time out when he allowed 12 hits (three home runs) and seven earned runs in three innings against the White Sox.
He's also allowed 10 doubles, 12 home runs and 21 runs scored and RBI to right-handed hitters.
After his monster performance last night, Vaughn has a five-game hitting streak. He's cleared this line in four straight games and 11 of 15 matchups since joining the Brewers.
I like his chances to continue that trend today.
Braves vs Royals Player Props: Perez to Continue Solid Trend
Many aren't talking about the Royals, who may return to the playoffs for the second straight year, but perhaps they should be. While they're two games under .500, they're only four games out of the last wild card spot.
Kansas City isn't trading Seth Lugo and is extending him instead. The Royals are even adding at the deadline with the addition with Randal Grichuk.
One reason the Royals still believe is because of their long-time All-Star catcher Salvador Perez. In July, Perez is slashing .341/.386/.741 with seven doubles, nine home runs and 20 RBI. He's now tied for the team-lead with 18 home runs on the year.
He may be launching No. 19 today.
Perez is 4-for-8 with a double and a home run off Joey Wentz. The left-hander is now on his fourth team in the last two years and has a 5.59 ERA for his career. This year, he's allowed 11 extra-base hits (five home runs) and .868 OPS to right-handed batters.
That bodes well for Perez reaching his total bases prop, which he's done in 13 of his last 21 games.
He's +370 on DraftKings and Fanatics for a home run today.
Mets vs Padres Player Props: Machado Well on Way to Cashing This Pick
Last night, Manny Machado started the night 0-for-3, but he didn't miss the opportunity to come through in the clutch when his team needed him. Machado launched a three-run homer to left center to punctate a five-run seventh inning that helped San Diego cruise to a 7-1 victory.
Machado became the first Padre with six seasons of 20 home runs or more and is one of six active players with 10 seasons of 20 home runs or more.
In July, Machado is hitting .330 with 12 runs scored, seven doubles, seven home runs, 22 RBI and a 1.015 OPS. But he's been even better of late. During his seven-game hitting streak, he's hitting .552 with a 1.491 OPS.
He'll look to extend that streak today against Clay Holmes, who he's 1-for-2 against. Holmes has had a strong campaign in his first full year as a starter. However, he has reverse splits, as right-handers are hitting .251 against him compared to .227 for left-handed bats.
During Machado's hitting streak, he's recorded two or more hits + runs+ runs batted in during all seven games as well, averaging 4.1 per game.
If his hitting streak continues, this line likely cashes as well.
