The Dallas Mavericks (32-31) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (38-24) in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The game will broadcast live on ESPN.

The Grizzlies are 10-point road favorites over the Mavericks on the spread (Grizzlies -10), with the over/under set at 239.5 total points. Memphis is a -455 favorite to win outright, while Dallas is +350 to pull off the upset.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Dallas Mavericks NBA Preview

The Grizzlies and Mavericks enter tonight's game off blowout losses to the Thunder and Bucks, respectively. Both teams have lost five of their last six games. However, the Grizzlies may be the team better positioned to bounce back tonight.

Dallas has lost its last three games by at least 15 points and continues to be ravaged by injuries. Tonight's injury report matches the length of a CVS receipt as Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington are all out among others. Over their last 10 games, Dallas ranks in the bottom third of the league in offensive rating, defensive rating, and net rating.

Memphis is not out of the woods on the injury front as Jaren Jackson Jr. is out a couple of weeks with a sprained ankle. The two-time all-star is averaging 22.7 points and 1.6 blocks per game this season. However, Memphis still has Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and a deep bench to pick up the slack.

Without Jackson, Memphis still has nine players averaging at least eight points per game available tonight. Head coach Taylor Jenkins has leaned into his depth this season as the Grizzlies are playing at a breakneck pace, leading the league in pace with 104.3 possessions per game.

Bane is the only Grizzlies player averaging over 30 minutes. He is averaging 18.5 points, six rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game this season. Morant has struggled to shoot from the field of late as he is shooting below 40% from the field and 25% from three over his last 10 games. However, he is still averaging 22.7 points and seven assists per game in that stretch.

Coming out of the All-Star break, the Mavericks have scored 110 points in just two of their last seven games, and most of those games were with Kyrie Irving. Now, because of Memphis' pace, Dallas may reach that total tonight, but I do not expect it to remain competitive being so shorthanded tonight.

Memphis has won three of the last five meetings between these teams and all three wins have been by double digits. One of those wins came as a 9.5-point favorite and I like Grizzlies to win by 10 or more tonight largely behind Morant and Bane.

Morant has scored 20 points in five straight games and in eight of his last 10 outings. He is attempting 22 field goals per game in that span, but has still recorded six assists in eight of his last 10 games. Bane has scored 18 points in 15 of his last 20 games.

Meanwhile, rookie Jaylen Wells is coming off a rough outing against Oklahoma City, but he has scored 12 points in six of his last 10 games. He also had 17 in his last game against Dallas.
