This article contains predictions for an old game.

The New York Knicks (28-16) and Brooklyn Nets (14-29) will face off in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The game will broadcast live on TNT.

The Knicks are 12.5-point favorites over the Nets on the spread (Knicks -12.5), with the over/under set at 219 total points. New York is a -750 favorite to win outright, while Brooklyn is +525 to pull off the upset.

Let's get into my Knicks vs. Nets predictions and NBA picks for Tuesday, January 21.

Knicks vs. Nets Prediction, Picks

Spread

With the Knicks tagged as double-digit road favorites, I will not be betting either side of the spread in tonight's contest.

Over/Under

The Nets have a long list of players listed as out or questionable, making it hard to predict how many points they might score. However, the Knicks boast the league's third-best offense, averaging 118.3 points, and rank eighth in Net Rating.

That’s why my Nets vs. Knicks best bet is on the Knicks Team Total Over 116.5 Points, with the best line currently available at DraftKings. But as always, make sure to shop for the best line using our live NBA odds page.

My Pick: Knicks Team Total Over 116.5

New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Tuesday Preview

The Knicks head across town to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. Although it's in Brooklyn, the Knicks fans have "traveled" well to Barclays and there should be a pro-Knicks atmosphere there. Can the Knicks take care of business or will the trade-machine Nets put up a fight?

The Knicks had listed both Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns on the injury report for Monday, we will have to see if their status changes after playing yesterday. Brooklyn has a lengthy injury report with Cam Thomas (hamstring), Bojan Bogdanovic (foot), Trendon Watford (hamstring), and Zaire Williams (ankle) all listed as OUT plus Ben Simmons (illness) and D'Angelo Russell (hamstring) are both Questionable.

The Knicks have been significantly better than Brooklyn this season. They have the league's third-best offense (118.3) and the eighth-best Net Rating.

The Nets are in the bottom 10 in offense and Defense and have the fifth-worst Net Rating (-6.3), per Dunks and Threes. The Knicks have handled their business against Brooklyn in both matchups this season winning 124-122 and 114-104 back in November. The two-point victory was without KAT, and it has become abundantly clear how important he is to the Knicks' success.

When the Knicks have played teams in the bottom 10 of point differential, they have a +10.4 Net Rating and a 16-3 record. They dominate these games while scoring 122.6 points per 100. When Brooklyn plays teams in the Top 10 in Net Rating, they have a -10.8 point differential and allow 123.8 points per 100 possessions, the worst number in the league, per Cleaning the Glass.

Knicks vs. Nets Best Bets, Predictions

Considering the Knicks' offensive success and the Nets inability to slow teams down, I'll target the Knicks' team total and grab that over.

For my same game parlay, I'll take Mikal Bridges 15+ Points, OG Anunoby 15+ Points (both had 20+ in the earlier matchups), and Hart 5+ Assists.

Best Bet: Knicks Team Total Over 116.5 (-110)

Knicks vs. Nets Parlay Picks

  • Mikal Bridges 15+ Points (-200)
  • OG Anunoby 15+ Points (-120)
  • Josh Hart 5+ Assists (+100)

Parlay Payout: +461
