Donovan Clingan and the Trail Blazers draw a matchup against Brooklyn tonight in what is a back-to-back spot for Portland — and the key thing here is that Clingan is averaging 16 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on short rest this year.
That’s way up from his full-season numbers.
It could just be noise — or, it could be the fact that he’s a young player and it doesn’t really matter whether or not his legs are fresh.
However, I think the biggest factor is that Robert Williams usually sits those games. That means Clingan gets a couple more minutes than usual, and he gets to run center at his own speed and pace.
So, I’m going to be looking for him to beat up on a really depleted Nets frontcourt.
