Central Arkansas vs UNC College Basketball Betting Preview

Central Arkansas Basketball

The classic "pay a team to beat them by a lot" is happening in Chapel Hill on Monday.

Central Arkansas was 9-24 last season and 4-14 in the ASUN. Last season, Central Arkansas opened its season against BYU, losing 88-50.

A name to know for Central Arkansas is Camren Hunter. Hunter was All-ASUN last year while averaging 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Hunter is the do-it-all player for the Bears, even recording a triple-double in 2024-25 vs. North Alabama.

UNC Basketball

Last season, UNC’s elephant in the room was how small it was in the frontcourt. Coming off a disappointing 23-14 campaign, Hubert Davis’ 2025-26 frontcourt will be a lot different.

Talented five-star, 6-foot-10 freshman Caleb Wilson, 7-foot Arizona transfer Henri Veesaar and 6-foot-10 Alabama transfer Jarin Stevenson now provide a solid frontcourt presence for UNC and will be key contributors to this team, along with senior guard Seth Trimble.

Talented freshman Luka Bogavac’s eligibility is still in question (the NCAA has yet to approve his waiver), so as of now, I don't expect him to play on Monday.

Central Arkansas vs. UNC Betting Analysis

Central Arkansas doesn't have a player on its roster taller than 6-foot-9. Add in the shooters UNC brought in from the portal, and the Heels should score at ease on the offensive end and make it tough for UCA to score on the other end thanks to their length.

This is the perfect opener for UNC to show significant improvement in its frontcourt against an inferior and smaller team.

I expect Wilson to be everywhere for UNC on Monday and to produce several highlight plays on both ends while being the No. 1 option for the Tar Heels.

My Pick: UNC -33.5
