Below, we have Notre Dame vs. South Carolina odds and a pick for Tuesday.

When Notre Dame and South Carolina meet in the ACC/SEC Challenge, it'll be a meeting of two teams that have had differing levels of success so far this season. Both could certainly use a win, and there's reason to believe that both could get the job done Tuesday night.

South Carolina opened the season with five wins in its first five games. That stretch included two wins over top-100 opponents in Virginia Tech and Grand Canyon.

Meechie Johnson Jr., B.J. Mack and Myles Stute give the Gamecocks three different players who score in double figures. They're balanced, they shoot well from 3 and they're favored in this game.

On the other end is Notre Dame, which is led by former Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry. Things were expected to be ugly in South Bend this year, and the Irish started the season with losses to Western Carolina and Auburn.

But things have turned for them since then, with a critical win over Oklahoma State and a blowout of Maryland-Eastern Shore.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame is ahead of schedule, as nobody expected anything impressive from the Fighting Irish this season. Instead, they already have a marquee win under their belt (Oklahoma State).

Freshman guard Markus Burton has been electric, despite his small 166-pound stature. He's scored 12 points or more in all five games.

Outside of Burton, there's not much to like offensively, which is strange for a Shrewsberry team. Notre Dame makes just 28% of its shots from 3-point range. The Irish shoot a lot of 3s, but they just don't make them. They don't get anything easy, as they rarely get to the free-throw line as well.

Notre Dame's strength is its defense, and it'll need to hang tough on that end to win this game.

South Carolina Gamecocks

South Carolina should have more success in this one. The Gamecocks have earned their undefeated start with a balanced attack and good play on both sides of the ball.

Carolina ranks inside the top 100 in efficiency metrics both offensively and defensively. Mack has been their best offensive player, and he's a force to be reckoned with in the frontcourt, where he'll have a major mismatch in this game.

Don't sleep on the guards, though, as on any given night, Johnson and Ta'Lon Cooper can win their respective matchups.

If the 3-point line is the difference here, advantage goes to the Gamecocks. South Carolina makes 39% of its shots from behind the arc and it holds opponents to just 28% shooting from deep.

Betting Pick & Prediction

This will be a very tough matchup for Notre Dame, as if it doesn't win the 3-point battle, there aren't many areas where it's better than South Carolina.

Give Shrewsberry some credit for getting his team to show some early signs of life, but South Carolina should pull away big here at home.

Pick: South Carolina -9
