The Utah State Aggies got a much-needed victory on Saturday and have started to build momentum back up. Barring a massive collapse, the Aggies will be dancing in March.

As for Wyoming, the Cowboys have lost their last two games to UNLV and New Mexico. However, the team has had almost eight days of rest leading into this matchup.

Utah State Aggies

The Mountain West Conference has been one of the most exciting stories of the college basketball season. Currently, Utah State is leading the pack with an 8-3 conference record, but four teams are close behind with a record of 7-4.

As for their upcoming matchup against the Cowboys, the Aggies should have no trouble on the offensive end. They rank 42nd in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and shoot an impressive 57% inside the arc.

They also do a decent job of protecting the ball and getting to the free-throw line. While the Cowboys are good at preventing free-throw attempts, it shouldn't be a significant concern for the Aggies.

The only issue is that Utah State shoots just 31% from beyond the arc and doesn't attempt many 3s. If the Aggies' interior scoring isn't working, they may need help to hit consistent shots from deep.

Overall, they rank 300th in 3-point attempts per game.

Wyoming Cowboys

The Cowboys have had a tough season so far, with a record of 12-11 and 5-5 in MWC play.

Wyoming has already lost to the Aggies this season by a wide margin, 83-59.

Unfortunately, guard Kobe Newton has been out since mid-December with an illness and may not play again this season. He was essential to the Cowboys' offense, shooting 53% from 3-point range.

The Cowboys' most significant concern is their defense, as they rank 230th in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency and allow opponents to shoot 53% from the floor. They need help to rebound the ball on defense and have difficulty limiting opponents' scoring inside the arc.

This is a concern, as the Aggies excel at scoring inside.

The Cowboys' 3-point shooting might help them stay in the game, but it's uncertain if they can overcome their defensive issues.

Although strange things can happen in Laramie, it's unclear whether it's wise to back the Cowboys.

Betting Pick & Prediction

The Cowboys' performances at home have been shaky lately, and it's hard to trust them on their court. While they're known for their excellent 3-point shooting, the Aggies have a strong perimeter defense.

The Aggies might struggle to defend their interior, but overall, both teams will play at a slow pace.

Therefore, the safest bet is to take the under, and I'm confident this game will be a low-scoring contest.
