Below, we have NCAAB odds and a pick for Iowa State vs. Texas.

The Big 12 is arguably the most competitive conference in college basketball.

Fans are in store for another great game on Tuesday night when the Longhorns play the Cyclones in Austin, Texas.

Iowa State enters this game a half-game back from first place in the Big 12, and the Cyclones are seeking a win to hold serve in the conference title race. They suffered a devastating loss at Baylor over the weekend, where a miraculous buzzer beater from Milos Momcilovic was waved off for coming after the horn. The Cyclones haven't lost back-to-back games since November.

On the other end is Texas, which has been one of the more confusing teams in the country, let alone the Big 12 conference. After losing back-to-back games over BYU and Houston, Rodney Terry's Longhorns went on the road and upset TCU, giving Texas their third win in five games. Texas is just 1-3 at home in conference play, with a win over Baylor and losses to Texas Tech, UCF and Houston.

Iowa State Cyclones

Iowa State is elite on the defensive end. The Cyclones rank fifth nationally in defensive efficiency and are tops at forcing turnovers.

TJ Otzelberger has built a physical, tough-minded team that makes opposing offenses work for everything they get for 40 minutes.

Offensively, it can sometimes be a different story, as Iowa State ranks 50th in the sport in offensive efficiency. They shoot the ball well from inside and outside the arc, but the free throw line can be their downfall, where they make just 68% as a team.

Tamin Lipsey has emerged as one of the best point guards in the country. An elite defense plus a star point guard is always a winning formula.

Texas Longhorns

Texas has a star point guard of their own. Oral Roberts transfer Max Abmas won over the hearts of college basketball fans everywhere in the Golden Eagles' magical March Madness run a few years ago. He's still among the nation's best pure scorers.

Texas has built an excellent offense around Abmas, ranking 22nd nationally in offensive efficiency. The Horns are stellar from beyond the arc, shooting 38%.

Defensively is where the Longhorns have concerns, as they rank just 60th in the sport in defensive efficiency. They have allowed opponents to score 70 or more points in seven of their last nine games, which is not a winning formula given Texas' slow offensive pace.

Betting Pick & Prediction

It is always hard to predict which version of Texas will show up, but given the spot, Iowa State will likely bounce back from a heartbreaking loss, and Texas may be a bit mispriced following their surprising win over TCU.

Expect Iowa State's defense to travel and Lipsey to hold up well against Abmas to the tune of an Iowa State cover.

Pick: Iowa State +2.5 (Play to +2)
