My Missouri vs Texas NCAAB Betting Preview

I really like the Longhorns in this game for two reasons.

First, this is a nice situational spot for Texas.

Missouri has been red hot. The Tigers upset Florida on the road — earning what could legitimately be one of the best resume victories of any team all season — before avoiding the letdown against a struggling Arkansas team.

However, they have to go on the road again to face a Longhorns team that desperately needs a bounce back after getting pummeled by Florida.

In a conference like the SEC — one of the deepest leagues of all-time — teams need to hold serve at home, and Texas has performed well in its building despite some tough losses. The Longhorns played Auburn and Tennessee close (losing by a combined nine points).

Meanwhile, Missouri also has Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas A&M on deck, so it could be looking ahead past an unranked Texas.

Second, Texas has a key edge X’s and O’s wise. The Longhorns allow very few opportunities for run outs off steals (20th in potential breakaway points allowed off of steals, via Haslametrics), which results in fewer turnovers.

That’s bad news for the Tigers because they love to score points off turnovers (23rd in potential points off of breakaway steals, also via Haslametrics).

Give me Rodney Terry's bunch to post a home victory for the first time since December 29.
