Below, we have Oregon State vs. UCLA odds and a pick, including a college basketball betting guide.

Pac-12 play rolls on as Oregon State heads to Los Angeles to take on the UCLA Bruins. Both teams are in the midst of surprising turnarounds over the last handful of games, and what once looked like a matchup between the two worst teams in the conference now looks like it may have more to offer.

Oregon State flipped its season last week with back-to-back wins at home. The first came against the Arizona Wildcats, and required some heroics from star guard Jordan Pope to beat the buzzer. The second came against Arizona State, but Oregon State won more comfortably this time, emerging with a 13-point victory.

The team is playing its best ball of the season, and it'll look to carry that into this game.

On the other side, UCLA has now won three of its last four games. Two of those wins came on the road against Arizona State and USC. The Bruins also picked up a decisive victory at home over Washington.

Their only loss in this span was a six-point defeat at Arizona, in which the Bruins covered the spread and played admirably against the best team in the conference.

Oregon State Beavers

Oregon State's strengths start with its best player. Pope is a sophomore guard, and he's one of the better scorers in the country. He shoots 38.6% from 3-point range and has a flash to his game that makes him both fun to watch and unstoppable at times.

Pope is averaging 25 points per game over Oregon State's last two wins, while chipping in 5.5 assists in that span. He'll be the best guard on the floor in this game, and that matters against the inexperienced UCLA backcourt.

Beyond Pope, there aren't many answers. The Beavers are just okay on both ends overall, ranking 167th on offense and 156th on defense.

Without Pope going off for a big game, they'll have a hard time scoring on the tough Bruins defense.

UCLA Bruins

As mentioned above, the Bruins have one of the best defenses in the Pac-12. UCLA ranks 32nd in the country defensively. In their nine wins this season, they've held opposing offenses to 66 points or less per game.

As good as the Bruins are defensively, they're nearly just as bad on the offensive end. As a team, the Bruins shoot just 30.6% from 3, which ranks 295th in the sport.

They're even less successful from inside the arc, scoring on just 45.5% of their attempts from 2-point range, good for 331st in the country.

The lack of a go-to post scorer hurts UCLA significantly.

The offense has been better during the recent stretch, scoring 65 or more points in all four games and reaching the 70-point mark twice.

Betting Pick & Prediction

With UCLA back at home, it's the great defense that should be trusted to find ways to stop the great player (Pope).

The Bruins’ recent defensive success should continue here, giving them enough of a cushion to cover in their own gym.

Pick: UCLA -8.5
