UCLA Bruins Football 2024

The UCLA Bruins will enter the 2024 season with a completely clean slate in their first year in the Big Ten. An 8-5 season with just four conference wins in 2023 spelled the end of Chip Kelly's tenure in Westwood, with DeShaun Foster taking over as head coach in 2024.

Our college football power ratings have UCLA at No. 61 in the country, but the Bruins are slated to have one of the toughest schedules in all of college football. Change will be the defining charachteristic for UCLA in 2024, with a new head coach and a new offense in place as Ethan Garbers prepares to take the reins at quarterback after splitting time with Dante Moore a season ago.

Here's how you can bet on UCLA this season, and some key things to know.

Betting on the UCLA Bruins

UCLA Point Spreads

UCLA did beat USC last season and was competitive against Utah, but it still posted a 6-7 record ATS. Point spreads are a popular bet one can make on either team in a college football game and are based on the margin of victory for the winning team.

A Bruins spread might look like this:

  • UCLA +3.5 (-110)
  • USC -3.5 (-110)

A 31-28 loss for UCLA is still a win for spread bettors since the three-point margin of defeat is less than the 3.5-point spread. Spread tickets on the Bruins would cash with any loss of three or fewer points, or an outright win.

FAQ: Everything you need to know about point spreads

UCLA Over/Unders

Under the Chip Kelly-led Bruins of recent years that featured some of the top offenses in the country, it would seem like betting on UCLA Overs would be an easy way to cash some tickets. But with a new-look staff and the Pac-12 in the past, perhaps UCLA Unders could be in play in 2024.

Over/unders, or totals, are bets on the number of points scored in the game. UCLA was just 2-10 to the Over in the 2023 regular season despite high expectations for Kelly's offense after prolific numbers the year prior.

UCLA Moneylines

While spread bets depend on the amount of the victory, moneyline bets are a bit simpler, as all that matters is which team wins. Let's look at an example:

The minus (-) and plus (+) signs distinguish the favorite from the underdog, making UCLA the favorite in this scenario. Odds can be understood more clearly if you think in terms of $100 increments. A wager on the Bruins odds would mean every $160 bet nets $100. And it's the opposite for underdogs: Here, the Colorado moneyline was set at +180, meaning a $100 wager would profit $180.

Moneylines are also commonly used when making parlays, which are multiple bets tied into one. Let’s say you bet on UCLA's moneyline and the Over, both bets would need to win for that parlay to be successful. The risk may be greater, but so is the reward with increased odds. Use our Odds Calculator to calculate any bet amount or conversion.

UCLA Props

With a historically fast-paced offense, the Bruins are one of the most fun teams to bet on with player props. These are bets on how much of a specific statistic a player will accumulate.

For example, you could bet on how many touchdown passes Garbers will throw in a game or bet over or under on RB T.J. Harden's rushing yards. Many skill position players (and some defenders) will have a variety of props available to bet each game.

UCLA Futures

Futures are somewhat similar to prop bets in the way both are monitored over the course of a season. However, most future bets are focused on end of season success. Examples of futures are:

  • UCLA Bruins odds to win the Big Ten
  • UCLA Bruins odds to reach the College Football Playoff
  • UCLA Bruins odds to win the College Football Playoff

If you think the Bruins can make their first College Football Playoff or even win the CFP championship, this is the bet to make. These types of bets are called futures, and they're just wagers on things that settle at the end of the year. For a full list of college football futures, click or tap here.
