Cole Hutson has only played 7 career games, and only has 1 career blocked shot, however this line is so ridiculously low that I have to imagine that its a great bet on the over. Out of established current NHL players no defenseman blocks fewer shots than Quinn Hughes, and at his career rate of blocked shots per minute projected onto Cole Hutson's 16 minutes a game you would still expect 0.5 blocks today and you'd expect him to have a block in 44% of his games. So Cole Hutson would have to be a ridiculous outlier for this to be a bad bet. His closest block comparison you would think would be his brother Lane, and at Lane's career block rate you would expect Cole to average around a block a game at 16 minutes a game. Cole Hutson is coming out of college hockey, where as far as I know blocks aren't counted, so we are flying quite blind here, but it is a good matchup to get blocks, and regression to just the least frequent blockers suggest this is a great bet.
