Joining the under party here on Action. If there’s one grand takeaway from the games this weekend, it’s that these divisional games with high stakes tend to be slow grind it out affairs, with both teams terrified of making the mistake that costs them the season.

Wiggins has stayed under this number in 8 of 16 games this season, making 4.5 his median. He’s been targeted 108 times, which is the 2nd most in the league, so he typically draws a ton of action his way. However, this week against a Steelers team that will be without DK Metcalf, their WR room is very thin, and he could be lined up across from Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdez-Scantling for most of the game. He had 6 tackles when these teams met a few weeks ago, but 3 of those came on DK Metcalf catches with Wiggins in coverage. With DK out, his tackle upside feels meaningfully lower here. This is also a game where I’m projecting the Ravens to face ~2.5 fewer completed passes and ~2 fewer rush attempts than their season average. On top of that, the Steelers have provided the 2nd fewest tackle opportunities to opposing CBs on the season, something that should be even more pronounced without DK. I have Wiggins mixing in on around ~1 run tackle and ~3 tackles in coverage. This feels like a spot where he’s much more likely to land near his floor (obviously he could still get 5+), but I’m projecting around a 62% chance he stays under 4.5

One of these teams will win the division and host a playoff game next week, whether we like it or not. That will likely come against the Texans, who clinch at least the 5-seed with a win Sunday, and that shapes up as a very low-scoring game, probably one with a total well below 40 and a game that comes down to a couple plays or a final kick. Houston is better than both Baltimore and Pittsburgh, but those are tough road environments and games that would be priced around a coin flip, and a lot of trends will push to back the home underdog in the Wild Card Round in what would look like a pretty coin-flippy game. One of these teams has to make the playoffs, and whoever does will be live to beat the Texans. If they do, they'll likely hit the road to play in Jacksonville or New England the following week — and that's a totally different task, playing on the road with run-heavy attacks against great run defenses. I'm playing two futures angles together to the same end, listed under "stage of elimination" at many books: Baltimore to lose in the Divisional Round at +460 and Pittsburgh to lose in the Divisional Round at +750, both at FanDuel. One of those bets dies Sunday night. The other team needs to win next week, but if they do, that's suddenly a +460 or +750 moneyline on the Patriots or Jaguars as big home favorites! We're going to want that ticket.
