This is one of those lines that makes almost no sense to me if we start looking at this season's performances.
A's starter JP Sears has been much better this year than in the past, upping his velocity a little and changing his pitch mix to become a better version of himself while keeping the low walk percentage that kept him at the MLB level.
Marlins starter Edward Cabrera has that big fastball, but that's about it. He has been hit hard in all four of his outings, giving up at least two earned runs in all of them while allowing way too many walks and hits.
Sears could easily be viewed as the better pitcher right now.
The A's clearly have a big lineup advantage, being one of the better offenses in baseball for the year so far. The A's lineup is mostly healthy and has the recent addition of rookie phenom Nick Kurtz, who has yet to really get going at the MLB level.
The A's likely won't have Mason Miller available today, but even without him, they have a better bullpen than the Marlins.
I have the A's being better in all three main categories today, and they are priced well below my normal -150 threshold.
