This article contains predictions for an old game.

It's the battle of the Sox on Friday night as the Chicago White Sox (4-14) take on the Boston Red Sox (10-10) at Fenway Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET; the game will be broadcast on NESN.

Don't look now, but the White Sox look like they're really bad again, with just four wins entering Friday's series opener against the Red Sox.

However, that doesn't mean you should discount Chicago tonight. Continue below for my White Sox vs Red Sox prediction on the first five innings (F5).

White Sox, Red Sox Betting Preview: F5 Value on Chicago

The White Sox may be on track to be the worst team in MLB once again, but they might be a little undervalued in this spot tonight.

The White Sox are expected to face Red Sox rookie right-hander Hunter Dobbins, who hasn't been sharp in his two Triple-A appearances — and he wasn't good in his first MLB start earlier this season. Despite logging a win over the Cardinals, Dobbins allowed eight hits and two walks over five innings — he was fortunate to only allow two runs.

Dobbins has a good minor-league track record, but he hasn't shown much this year at all.

The White Sox are rolling out Martin Perez, who has been pitching well above expectations through three starts. He has a 1.59 ERA and 2.64 FIP entering Friday.

White Sox vs Red Sox Prediction, Betting Analysis

Even with some regression due for Perez, I'm not all too sure the pitching matchup favors Boston much, if at all.
