The Minnesota Twins (8-15) host the Chicago White Sox (5-18) on Wednesday night in a battle between AL Central bottom dwellers. First pitch from Target Field is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. ET; the game can be streamed on MLB.TV.
With Martin Perez landing on the injured list, the White Sox are rolling out Bryse Wilson tonight, and he'll be key to my White Sox vs Twins prediction.

Charlie Wright’s White Sox vs Twins Preview, Prediction

White Sox-Twins Prop Pick
This is my first edition this season of "guess the opener's workload."
It's one of my favorite games. I feel like I have a solid read on this one given the usage and surrounding roster moves.
Wilson is stepping into Martin Perez's rotation spot today. When Perez hit the IL, Jared Shuster was recalled.
I'm expecting a tandem outing from the righty Wilson and the lefty Shuster. Wilson has made one long relief appearance this season, throwing 64 pitches over three innings on April 4. The rest of his outings have been 25 pitches or fewers. He's pitched fewer than two innings in seven of his nine appearances.
Wilson had five strikeouts in that three-inning outing; he has a total of three punchouts in the rest of his appearances (nine innings).
With a 17% K% for his career. the shortened 2020 season was Wilson's only year with a strikeout rate above 20%.
Minnesota has struck out at the eighth-lowest rate in 2025. Tonight's projected lineup has a 20.1% K% vs. RHP since the start of 2024 (2,797 plate appearances).
White Sox vs Twins Prediction, Betting Analysis
It's a tough matchup and Wilson is likely maxing out at one trip through the lineup.
Lefty Edouard Julien should lead off for the Twins — his second at-bat seems like an ideal time for the White Sox to turn to Shuster, who hasn't pitched since Saturday.
Davis Martin went five innings on Tuesday and Mike Vasil covered the rest. Chicago should have every reliever except Vasil available.
Pick: Bryse Wilson Under 2.5 Strikeouts (+115; bet365)
