Cardinals vs Brewers MLB Betting Preview
Editor’s Note: This written pick is a transcription from today’s episode of the Payoff Pitch Podcast.
I make the Brewers around -205, so I’m betting them down to -185. I have the total closer to 7.25, so I’m taking the Under 7.5 at -105 (and Under 8 down to -105 as well).
I fully re-ran and updated my starting pitcher rankings last night, including re-weighting the projected weighted FIP. Kyle Harrison now ranks as my SP5 or SP6 on the season. The only guys ahead of him are Jacob Misiorowski (SP1), Chris Sanchez, Paul Skenes, and Chris Sale. That’s elite company.
What’s interesting is his pitch mix is largely unchanged from last year with the Red Sox, so I’m curious to dig deeper into what’s changed — whether it’s location, sequencing, or something else — because the results have spiked dramatically. He’s sitting at a 20–25% K-BB rate.
On top of that, the Brewers have the better defense and the better bullpen in this matchup against the Cardinals. So there are a lot of reasons to like Milwaukee here.
Pick: Brewers ML -185 or Better | Under 7.5 -105
