Arizona State vs Kansas College Basketball Betting Preview
After losing to West Virginia at home, Kansas played angry in Orlando, obliterating UCF by 51 points.
But I also think Kansas might've found something in that victory.
Bill Self put Shakeel Moore into the starting lineup and placed AJ Storr on the bench, resulting in the former adding tough defense for 20 minutes and the latter scoring 11 points in 15 minutes.
Whether this motivated the Wisconsin transfer or not, Kansas desperately needs Storr and Rylan Griffen to provide shooting and consistency — two things they were expected to provide when they came over in the transfer portal this offseason.
The Jayhawks are also finding that playing Hunter Dickinson and Flory Bidunga together can be a beneficial lineup, as evidenced by the freshman's breakout game against the Knights.
Meanwhile, the Sun Devils have shown flashes of potential, playing Gonzaga tough, beating New Mexico and blowing out Colorado by 20. But they're also 0-2 in true road games, including a 20-point beating at the hands of BYU.
On top of the road struggles, Arizona State could be missing Joson Sanon, who wasn't available against the Buffs. While the Sun Devils won that game, they can ill afford to be without Sanon — or a limited Sanon — against the Jayhawks.
Jayden Quaintance's interior defense could be a factor in this game — especially if the Jayhawks don't shoot well from the perimeter — but this is also a freshman playing on the road at Allen Fieldhouse against two veteran bigs in KJ Adams Jr. and Dickinson.
Even though the Sun Devils have experience (four of their top five scorers are seniors), the Jayhawks are likely still angry after losing at home two games ago.
