Villanova Wildcats 2021-22 Season
Villanova has been one of the best programs in the nation over the last five seasons – not including the cutoff covid year in 2020. The Wildcats suffered second round exits in the NCAA Tournament 2017 and 2019…but won the National Championship in 2016 and 2018.
In 2020-21, Nova saw its season end with a loss in the Sweet Sixteen, but Jay Wright’s group looks ready to make another run this season. The Cats are currently No. 10 in the AP rankings and are going to move up after taking down No. 8 Providence on the road. At the very least, Villanova should be able to grab a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and could make a run to the Final Four.

Betting on the Villanova Wildcats
The Villanova Wildcats have some tough matchups remaining in the season, so be sure to pay close attention to the odds. Here are some of the popular bet types that you can make on the Wildcats if you live in a legal sports betting state.
- Moneyline
- Point Spread
- Over/Under
- Props
- Futures Odds
Villanova Moneyline
A moneyline bet requires a bettor to correctly pick the winner of the game. If you pick the winner of the game correctly, you will win the bet. How much you win will be determined by your wager amount and the associated moneyline for the team you bet on. Here's an example using a recent Villanova game against Seton Hall.
- Villanova -420 moneyline
- Seton Hall +320 moneyline
Villanova is the favored team to win this game, which is indicated by the minus sign (-) next to their moneyline. Seton Hall is the underdog denoted by the plus sign (+) next to their moneyline. The moneyline number signifies the potential payout for each team. Someone betting on Villanova would have to bet $420 to win $100 whereas a bettor would win $320 with a wager of $100 on Seton Hall.
Villanova Point Spread
Users can also place a point spread wager on the Villanova Wildcats. This requires a bettor to correctly select the margin of victory by a particular team, rather than simply who wins. Here's the same Villanova vs. Seton Hall matchup as an example.
- Villanova -9 (-110)
- Seton Hall +9 (-110)
Oddsmakers set a margin of victory total known as the spread. In this game, Villanova has to win by 10 or more points to beat this spread and Seton Hall either has to win the game outright or lose by 8 points or less to beat the spread. If Nova wins by exactly 9, then it’s a push. Point spreads also have an additional element known as juice, or the vig, which is the tax paid to the sportsbook for each bet. The juice is indicated next to the point spread. This number is used to determine a wager payout. For a bet on Villanova, a bettor would earn a profit of $100 for every $110 risked. Someone betting on Seton Hall would earn a profit of $100 for every $110 risked.
Villanova Over/Unders
Betting on over/under totals looks at the cumulative final score between two teams, not the winner or loser of the game. Bettors are required to accurately predict if the teams combine higher or lower than a number set by oddsmakers. Oddsmakers set the over/under total for Villanova vs. Seton Hall at 132 points.
- Over 132 points (-110)
- Under 132 points (-110)
Again, juice or vig comes into play with over/unders. Betting over 132 points means in this case that a bettor would have to wager $110 to earn $100. Betting under 132 points would mean a bettor would earn $100 for every $110 risked.
Villanova Prop Bets
For those Villanova fans that have a particular favorite player, prop bets are a great way to show your support. Oddsmakers will also set lines on player statistics. Bettors then have the opportunity to guess whether those players will go over or under the set line to win money. Some popular prop bets include how many points a player will score, who will score first, how many rebounds a player gets, and many more.
Villanova Future Odds
If you like Villanova’s odds to make the Final Four or win the NCAA Tournament, take a look at futures odds . A futures bet is wager for an event happening in the later in the season. Because a futures bet can be really hard to predict, the payouts are much higher than a typical wager. The Wildcats are currently +450 to make the Final Four and +1600 to win the NCAA Tournament.
