My Ohio State vs Minnesota College Basketball Betting Preview

If Minnesota can get this game to a crawl (360th in adjusted tempo, via KenPom), the Golden Gophers have a chance to cover.

That would be good news at home, but Ben Johnson's team hasn't preformed well in "The Barn" in Big Ten play so far this season, losing by a combined 38 points to Michigan State and Purdue.

The Gophers have a matchup advantage on the offensive glass, though. Minnesota is just 244th in the country in offensive rebounds per game, but it ranks 47th in second-chance conversion percentage, via Haslametrics.

Meanwhile, Ohio State is weak in that area, ranking 11th-worst nationally in potential points allowed off second chances.

The Buckeyes just lost a tough game at home to Michigan State, but they also have a stretch consisting of Oregon, at Wisconsin, Indiana and at Purdue on deck

I think Ohio State bounces back to get a victory, but I think 5 points is a bit too many for a team that has an avenue to create issues (offensive glass) and could use an inspiring performance after three blowout losses in league play.
