2024 Kansas State Wildcats Football

The Kansas State Wildcats football team enters the 2024 season with a tall task of following up a 9-win season after winning a Big 12 title in 2022. The Wildcats have combined for 19 wins in the past two seasons, capping off their season with an impressive 28-19 win over NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

The Wildcats will have to overcome notable departures, including quarterback Will Howard who elected to enter the transfer portal and is slated to be the starting QB at Ohio State this upcoming season. On top of Howard, the Wildcats lost Howard’s top pass catcher in tight end, Ben Sinnott who was drafted by the Washington Commanders in the middle second round. The offense will also have to overcome losing offensive coordinator, Collin Klein, who departed for the same position at Texas A&M.

The offensive attack will be led by running back DJ Giddens who rushed for over 1200 yards last year and 10 touchdowns. Moreover, the Wildcats added wideout Dante Cephas in the transfer portal from Penn State. Be on the lookout for redshirt freshman, dual-threat quarterback Avery Johnson, who could be a big-time dark horse for the Heisman.

If KState were to finish at the top of the Big 12 once again, it’ll be because of the defense. The Wildcats may have one of the best secondaries in all of college football led by corners, Keenan Garner and Jacob Parrish as well as all-Big 12 caliber safeties, Marques Sigle and VJ Payne.

Kansas State are seen as a strong competitor to win the Big 12 at +380 odds. They only sit behind Utah as the favorite.

Kansas State Wildcats Point Spreads
