Blues vs. Jets Preview

By Dana Forden

Blocked shots do go up in the playoffs. Players are more willing to use their bodies on the line, and there is chance of overtime.

However, your depth players get less playing time, and with a fully healthy squad, Ryan Suter is the sixth defenseman on the St. Louis Blues.

For a lot of the season, he was in the top-4 due to injuries or transactions, but even accounting for those situations, he has gone under 1.5 blocked shots in 52 of 82 games this season.

On top of that, despite being the top team during the regular season, the Jets have been shockingly hard to block shots against. Most good teams have the opposing team block a lot of shots because the good team has the puck in the opposing teams' end a lot, but the Jets' opponents have only blocked 91% of the shots of an average team this season (and 94% last season).

Best Bet: Ryan Suter Under 1.5 Blocked Shots
