His FIP suggests some potential regression, especially in a 28.1% ground ball rate and a 1.80 HR/9. Still, Wrobleski has shown a little bit of an improvement in his most recent starts, something to like going up against the inconsistency of the Cardinals' lineup. On the other side of the coin, Mikolas has been struggling mightily. At 5.30 this season, he hasn't been able to limit damage, owning a 1.29 WHIP, has only struck out 16.1% of batters, and given a free base to just 4%. Despite the low walk rate, over his last 25.1 innings, Mikolas has allowed 20 earned runs and five HRs. Their current pitching rotation is a little bit worn out. His home performances are brutal with a 6.38 ERA at Busch Stadium this season, which doesn't bode well when facing a Dodgers team that is slowly but surely finding their better form at bat. The Dodgers, of late, have been more reliable on offense than the Cardinals, who have supported their superb bullpen more. St. Louis' corresponding pen has been more of a problem, posting an ERA of 4.64 in their last 10 contests, during which the Cards have lost seven games. Back Los Angeles to take this game, with Mikolas more vulnerable and the Dodgers being in a better overall form, particularly in exploiting weaker pitching.
