Rockets vs. Magic Odds & Betting Predictions - October 25, 2023

Last season, the Rockets were decimated by guards - but now with FVV, Brooks and Ausar (and Udoka coaching), I expect them to be one of the better defensive teams this season. Could take a bit to come to fruition, but they did look good in preseason (2nd in defensive eff, for what it’s worth). And Jabari and Sengun had done a good job last year locking down the paint (9th fewest pitp last season at the 4th lowest frequency). The Magic only scored 111 ppg last season, and this should be a tough matchup this season. Jabari and Brooks on Paolo and Franz, and overall they profile as a poor outside shooting as a team again. I do think HOU won’t play as fast as they have the last few seasons as well. Plus, ORL has a ton of young guys who will likely get some minutes - longer rotations can lead to more disjointed offense.
