The Lakers face off against the lowly Wizards on Monday and they will be without Luka Doncic who is suspended for this game due to his 16th Technical Foul.
Without Luka, we need to be targeting Austin Reaves. Reaves usage skyrockets without Dončić on the floor and he often sees his minutes, staggered with LeBron to make sure that there is a primary ball handler on the floor. This is amplified when Marcus Smart is also out which he is today. Smart often takes on primary distribution duties and that takes the ball out of Reaves’ hands just a bit. Without them both, Reaves is averaging 37.3 points in 4 games.
The Wizards are obviously an extremely soft defense, and they have no real incentive to win at this point of the season. Despite that, the Lakers revolve entirely around their three primary stars of which tonight they will be without one. In order for them to blow any teams out they really need massive production from them on any given night.
Tonight, I expect Reaves to carry this Lakers team.
