Hawks vs. Heat
By Joe Dellera
The Hawks face off against the Heat tonight in a matchup that is critical for not only just the play-in, but for the division as well. The spread here is just two points and we should see plenty of opportunity for both of these teams' primary players.
The one player that I want to target is Trae Young. Trae is the primary engine of the Hawks offense. And he should get plenty of opportunity here against what has been a struggling Miami defense.
Trae’s assists prop is set at 10.5, a number he has exceeded in 6 of his last 10 games, and he is averaging 11.7 on the season. He had struggled against Miami throughout his career. However, he’s cleared this number in 4 of his last 5 against them.
This should be a competitive game, and I’ll back Trae to perform.
Pick: Trae Young Over 10.5 Assists (-125)
Lakers vs. Bulls
By Kyle Murray
Luka Doncic has been held under this number in 4 straight games, and that is likely why we are getting a bit of a discount on a line that has been at 8.5 pretty consistently in recent weeks.
The Lakers draw an excellent matchup for assists tonight against the Bulls, who have played at the 3rd-fastest pace in the NBA while allowing the 3rd-most assists chances per game.
Luka projects for 9.1 assists in this spot.
Pick: Luka Doncic Over 7.5 Assists (-115)
Grizzlies vs. Thunder
I just don't love where we're at with Memphis right now. The Grizzlies have allowed 125+ points eight times since the break, including 120 to OKC at home.
These days, you always have to check the injury report, and Jalen Williams is questionable to play, though Ja Morant and Aaron Wiggins are out.
Combined with this being OKC, who has lit teams up for 125 or more in four straight games, and in 10 of their last 13 home games, Memphis also plays at the fastest pace in the league (OKC is 10th) and they allow the seventh-most points on a per game basis.
Pick: Thunder Team Total Over 123.5 (-115)
Rockets vs. Jazz
We can't help but mention the word "tank" in regard to Utah, which looks in no hurry to get any of its walking wounded back on the floor as it improves its chances in the draft lottery.
