Florida Gators 2021-22 Season

Going into the 2021-22 season, Florida was not expected to be much of a contender. They did not recieve any votes in the AP preseason poll, and were projected to finish 6th in the SEC. The team boasts a well-ranked offense and defense, but lack in pace. Allowing teams to stay fresh for the duration of the game. They have some impressive wins against Ohio State and Auburn, which will strengthen their case for getting into the NCAA Tournament.

As of March 4th, 2022 Florida is not projected to make the NCAA Tournament. However, ending their regular season with a win against Kentucky would help their case. A deep run in the SEC Tournament would do the same.

Even if Florida doesn't make the NCAA Tournament, be sure to check out our Final Four odds and National Championship odds.

Betting on the Florida Gators

Florida may not be a premier talent, but anyone can make a run in March. If you believe in Florida, now is the time to bet them at a good price. These are the popular types of bets that you can make on the Gators if you live in a legal sports betting state.

Florida Moneyline

A moneyline bet requires a bettor to correctly pick the winner of the game. If you pick the winner of the game correctly, you will win the bet. How much you win will be determined by your wager amount and the associated moneyline for the team you bet on. Here's an example using an Florida game against Tennessee.

  • Florida +125 moneyline
  • Tennessee -160 moneyline

Tennessee is the team favored to win this game, which is indicated by the minus sign (-) next to their moneyline. Florida is the underdog denoted by the plus sign (+) next to their moneyline. The moneyline number signifies the potential payout for each team. Someone betting on Tennessee would have to bet $160 to win $100 whereas a bettor would win $125 with a wager of $100 on Florida.

Florida Point Spread

Users can also place a point spread wager on the Florida Gators. This requires a bettor to correctly select the margin of victory by a particular team, rather than simply who wins. Here's the same Florida vs. Tennessee matchup as an example.

  • Florida +5.5 (-110)
  • Tennessee -5.5 (-110)

Oddsmakers set a margin of victory total known as the spread. In this game, Tennessee has to win by six or more points to beat this spread and Florida either has to win the game outright or lose by five points or less to beat the spread. Point spreads also have an additional element known as juice, or the vig, which is the tax paid to the sportsbook for each bet. The juice is indicated next to the point spread. This number is used to determine a wager payout. For a bet on the Gators, a bettor would earn a profit of $100 for every $110 risked. Someone betting on Alabama would earn a profit of $110 for every $100 risked.

Florida Over/Unders

Betting on over/under totals looks at the cumulative final score between two teams, not the winner or loser of the game. Bettors are required to accurately predict if the teams combine higher or lower than a number set by oddsmakers. Oddsmakers set the over/under total for Florida vs. Tennessee at 149.5 points.

  • Over 149.5 points (-108)
  • Under 149.5 points (-112)

Again, juice or vig comes into play with over/unders. Betting over 149.5 points means in this case that a bettor would have to wager $108 to earn $100. Betting under 149.5 points would mean a bettors would earn $100 for every $112 risked.

Florida Prop Bets

For those Gators fans that have a particular favorite player, prop bets are a great way to show your support. Oddsmakers will also set lines on player statistics. Bettors then have the opportunity to guess whether those players will go over or under the set line to win money. Some popular prop bets include how many points a player will score, who will score first, how many rebounds a player gets, and many more.

Florida Future Odds

If you like the Florida Gators chance to make the Final Four or win the NCAA Tournament, take a look at futures odds . A futures bet is wager for an event happening in the later in the season. Because a futures bet can be really hard to predict, the payouts are much higher than a typical wager. Currently the Gators are +4000 to make the Final Four and +20000 to win the NCAA Tournament.
