LSU Tigers 2021-22 Season

Expectations for the LSU Tigers were low at the start of the season. They were not ranked in the preseason AP poll, and it was going to be tough to shock the critics in a star-studded SEC conference. However, LSU was able to fight their way into the AP rankings mid-season following big wins against Kentucky and Tennessee. The Tigers have a top tier defense, and this allows them to stay in games late. They have one game left against Alabama, then it is off to the SEC Tournament.

LSU is currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament, and that is not likely to change. If they were to make a run in the SEC tournament, LSU could find themselves as a 5 seed or better when March Madness begins.

Do you like the LSU Tigers to make the Final Four or even win the NCAA Tournament? Check the latest college basketball odds and place your bets today.

Betting on the LSU Tigers

LSU may not be a premier talent, but anyone can make a run in March. If you believe in LSU, now is the time to bet them at a good price. These are the popular types of bets that you can make on the Tigers if you live in a legal sports betting state.

LSU Moneyline

A moneyline bet requires a bettor to correctly pick the winner of the game. If you pick the winner of the game correctly, you will win the bet. How much you win will be determined by your wager amount and the associated moneyline for the team you bet on. Here's an example using an LSU game against Alabama.

  • LSU +125 moneyline
  • Alabama -160 m oneyline

Alabama is the team favored to win this game, which is indicated by the minus sign (-) next to their moneyline. LSU is the underdog denoted by the plus sign (+) next to their moneyline. The moneyline number signifies the potential payout for each team. Someone betting on Alabama would have to bet $160 to win $100 whereas a bettor would win $125 with a wager of $100 on LSU.

LSU Point Spread

Users can also place a point spread wager on the Arkansas Razorbacks. This requires a bettor to correctly select the margin of victory by a particular team, rather than simply who wins. Here's the same Auburn vs. Kentucky matchup as an example.

  • LSU +5.5 (-110)
  • Alabama -5.5 (-110)

Oddsmakers set a margin of victory total known as the spread. In this game, Alabama has to win by six or more points to beat this spread and LSU either has to win the game outright or lose by five points or less to beat the spread. Point spreads also have an additional element known as juice, or the vig, which is the tax paid to the sportsbook for each bet. The juice is indicated next to the point spread. This number is used to determine a wager payout. For a bet on the Tigers, a bettor would earn a profit of $100 for every $110 risked. Someone betting on Alabama would earn a profit of $110 for every $100 risked.

LSU Over/Unders

Betting on over/under totals looks at the cumulative final score between two teams, not the winner or loser of the game. Bettors are required to accurately predict if the teams combine higher or lower than a number set by oddsmakers. Oddsmakers set the over/under total for LSU vs. Alabama at 149.5 points.

  • Over 149.5 points (-108)
  • Under 149.5 points (-112)

Again, juice or vig comes into play with over/unders. Betting over 149.5 points means in this case that a bettor would have to wager $108 to earn $100. Betting under 149.5 points would mean a bettors would earn $100 for every $112 risked.

LSU Prop Bets

For those Tigers fans that have a particular favorite player, prop bets are a great way to show your support. Oddsmakers will also set lines on player statistics. Bettors then have the opportunity to guess whether those players will go over or under the set line to win money. Some popular prop bets include how many points a player will score, who will score first, how many rebounds a player gets, and many more.

LSU Future Odds

If you like the LSU Tigers chance to make the Final Four or win the NCAA Tournament, take a look at futures odds . A futures bet is wager for an event happening in the later in the season. Because a futures bet can be really hard to predict, the payouts are much higher than a typical wager. Currently the Tigers are +1700 to make the Final Four and +8000 to win the NCAA Tournament.
