Oklahoma vs Kentucky College Basketball Betting Preview

By: Bruce Marshall

Oklahoma moved a bit closer to the safe side of the NCAA Tournament cutline with last night's win over Georgia, but the Sooners realize there might still be work to do in Nashville, and how a win over Kentucky tonight could help immeasurably on Selection Sunday.

Even recent losses by Oklahoma have been close, including a bitter 83-82 setback vs. Kentucky in Norman on February 26 when ex-Sooner Otega Oweh won the game for the Cats with a bucket in the last six seconds.

Oklahoma did hit better than 52% from the floor that night — led by 6-foot-7 wing Jalon Moore's 20 points — so the Sooners know they can get after the Kentucky defense.

Mark Pope's Cats have lots of offense (almost 86 PPG) but lapses on the other end — like the Sooners exploited a few weeks ago — make this spread seem a bit steep.

That's especially true since the Cats might be better served with a bit of a rest between now and the start of the Big Dance.
