Jeffrey Springs gets the nod after a strong 2024 – 3.27 ERA, 33 IP. Limited Seattle to 1 ER across 3.1 career IP – small sample, but promising. Castillo solid overall, but A’s core sees him well: Langeliers (.313), Brown (.333), Bleday (.300). No fear factor here. Oakland bats cold on paper (.103 avg), but underlying contact was fine – .444 OPS, 3rd in barrel rate on Opening Day. Rooker (.293 last year), Butler (.262), and Bleday (.243) form a real MLB heart of the order. Mariners leaned heavy on bullpen early, could show tonight. SEA offense still shaky – J-Rod strong, but Arozarena (.231), Raleigh (.220), Crawford (.202) all struggled in '24. Castillo had a 3.64 ERA last season but faded late (5.05 ERA in September). A’s have seen him 5x recently – no surprises. Regression on deck.
